I would like to learn double exposures, you know, those Macro shots, where you have the subject unde r the strobe, but at the back you can see the ball of the sun for instance... Any idea?

Yes, the "doble" expose or the overlap, is the made by the D90.

The "doble" or "triple" expose, is in the moment, you need to think very well, the motive and wath do you want to do, you have just 30 secinds to take 2 or 3 shots, and then the D90, process that shots automatic.

The overlap, you can make when you want.... but for my experinece, if you pass the shot to your computer, and erase the memory card, and after saw the shots in the computer you decide to overlap 2 shots... you have to copy again do the camera, but the camera don't let you do the overlap... in theis case you can do it in other software (PS, or another one)....

Like I told you the shot I upload to here, whit my wife eye and the flash light, was a overlap.... not made in the water, but when I take that 2 shots was to try later.... and I made at home before erase the memory card. It was a training :), and to see if it works.

Hope my explanation was OK.. cheers ;)

HI scubashooter :)

the D90, can do as doble expose and also triple expose (in 30 seconds).... and also after you take several shots, you can overlap 2 shots... if you have in the same card, one shot wideangle and another macro, you can also overlap this two.... but of course, you have to chose very carfelly the 2 shots :)
Hi Henrique!!! Very interesting!!! I must look after it!!! So this is a process that takes place inside the camera directly?

Hey Henrique!!! Thanks!!! Very interesting... so matter of fact your camera must be able to perform the double exposures... I will check if mine does!!! :)

If you see my photo fro the "Human Eye" is not an doble expose, but it was made underwater with 2 shots, in the D90.... the shot of the flash ligth was taken with anything on the back, so the strobe just iluminated the ligther, and all the rest was black, then I take another shot of the eye of my wife (macro with sigma105 and INON165), the left side of this shot was black because of her mask (black masck)... in this case works nice.... the D90 have the capacity to join 2 shots, and overlap, everything black in one shot to color in the other shot.....

if you want to do a doble expose, example in the D90, you have 30seconds to do that, maybe is not enougth..... or if uou miss ine shot, the doble expose, come bad....

So, for me is better, even if you do 2 dives in ine day, one macro and another WideAngle, keep the memory card on the camera, and them you can join 2 shots, one macro, and another wideangle, and it works very well.......
Hope you understand my text (sorry the bad inglish).... Cheers, henrique
