Steven MillerThank you Scubashooters Dot Net I would be happy to teach you anything I know. This image has an unusual look to it because it was Tonemapped. Ideally you shoot 5 images all 1 stop away from each other and blend them, but in this case it is a single image of course. I exported the RAW file to a Program called Photomatix, and used their controls and sliders to give it a sheen. Tonemapping and HDR (High Dynamic Range) processing attempts to extend the tonal range beyond what the camera was able to capture initially. It works best with multiple exposures and a tripod, but you can also create your image by taking a single shot and making over and underexposed versions of it for a blend. Many people don't like the "Effect" and call it "fakey" or over processed- but I like to consider all aspects of editing to be stylization- so there is no right or wrong.
