Fisherman for the day – Turtle Excluder Devices
Alex joins Dr Nick Pilcher and MRF scientist Liyana on a road trip from KK to Sandakan. Alex is about to become a fisherman for a day, spending time on a coastal shrimp trawl boat to learn about the issues both the fishermen and the marine life face. Guided by Liyana, Alex sees the importance of sustainable fishing for local communities, and how Turtle Excluder Devices save sea turtle lives on a daily basis.
